Checking out Desserts @Est – Hilton Chennai : #DetroitFoodSafari

Times Food nominated hotel for best desserts, one of iconic hotels near Guindy, #DFS set out to Est over at Hilton Chennai to try out their desserts.

Rated 4/5 stars, ambience is peace and calm as you would expect from a star hotel. Nominated for best desserts in city, i expected to see a variety of collection but was rather let down with poor choices that they offer. Pastries menu vary every day, but on the day i went i had to choose from 4 out of which 3 were chocolate mixed.

I ordered Choco Charlotte and Chocolate Fudge cake along with watermelon juice. Chocolate Fudge cake tasted as usual Chocolate Truffle that you find everywhere. Choco Charlotte on the other hand tasted pretty good. Among the two Choco Charlotte was my favourite. I prefer Chocolate Fudge cake over at Ciclo Cafe, (Ciclo Cafe Review).

And coming to watermelon, its one of the worst watermelon juices that i have ever tried. If you are looking to go to Est, please settle with Tea or Coffee and never try fresh juices over there.

Price wise, i get that Est belongs to elite class of hotels. I am pretty ok with the price of the pastries. But 300 for the watermelon juice that tasted like, well anything other than watermelon juice, i am pretty sceptical of whether this place is worth the money.

Ambience inside Est-Hilton Chennai.

Yes, people go to Est to have business meetings, but still i don’t find any worth in it. Other than its location advantage of being close to Tech Parks of Guindy, this place is not worth your time. I am sceptical if i should try out its other class of hotels.
